Your Organization can Become a Member of WE-CAN
We invite your organization or initiative to become a Member of the West Coast Climate Action Network.
The global climate emergency is relentlessly urgent. We want everyone to understand that this is an emergency. We want our decision-makers to show leadership every bit as determined as Canada’s was during World War II.
What We Do
We support our member organizations in four ways
We promote the calls to action of our member organizations in our weekly Climate News Roundup and on our social media.
We will work together to achieve more effective climate action.
We will link groups and organizations that are working on similar initiatives so that they can be stronger together.
Our website will provide information about your organization and encourage people to get involved. It also has information about the best climate solutions and learning and training resources.
Join Us Today
It is very easy to become a Member. Any group, organization, or business with three or more members whose leaders or Board agrees with our Members’ Agreement can apply to become a Member. In becoming a Member of the West Coast Climate Action Network, our organization agrees that the global climate emergency poses an existential threat to all nature and all humanity, and that we need rapid and urgent action to tackle its various causes.
Our Three Core Promises
At the West Coast Climate Action Network, we are committed to empowering and supporting our member organizations through three core promises.
AGM Voting and Board Elections
As a member organization, you will be entitled to choose someone to vote at our Annual General Meetings and in elections to the Board.
We Respect your Organization’s Unique Identity and Reputation.
Whenever WE-CAN advances a new climate policy, campaign or initiative, we will do so within the principles of our existing Position Statements, and with this proviso: WE-CAN has more than 200 member organizations, all of whose members agreed that the global climate emergency poses an existential threat to all nature and all humanity and that we need rapid and urgent action to tackle its various causes. While most WE-CAN members will support most of the climate policies, campaigns, and initiatives that WE-CAN undertakes or endorses, we value the diversity of our membership, and we acknowledge that some members may differ on the details of a particular policy or campaign or the way it is communicated or executed.
Membership Fees Are Voluntary
WE-CAN has a voluntary annual membership fee proportional to your group’s annual budget:

If your group’s annual budget is under $1,000, WE-CAN’s suggested Membership fee is $20

If your group’s annual budget is under $2,500, WE-CAN’s suggested Membership fee is $40

If your group’s annual budget is under $5,000, WE-CAN’s suggested Membership fee is $100
-
If your group’s annual budget is under $20,000, WE-CAN’s suggested Membership fee is $150
-
If your group’s annual budget is over $20,000, WE-CAN’s suggested Membership fee is $250
These fees are voluntary and are not required for groups to be a WE-CAN member.
