Climate Action Provincial Assembly (CAPA) Planning Team
WE-CAN’s Climate Action Provincial Assemblies (CAPAs) bring climate activists and advocates from climate groups across the province together to connect, strategize, and collaborate. We plan, organize, and deliver the CAPAs.
Communications Team
We work on WE-CAN’s communications, including our weekly newsletter (sign up here), website, and social media. Do you have an interest or expertise in digital communications? If so, we’d love to have you join the team.
Fundraising Team
WE-CAN’s Fundraising Team works to increase personal donations and grants to enable WE-CAN to continue and expand its work to unite, support, amplify, and promote climate action initiatives across BC. Do you have fundraising interests or expertise that could help us?

Indigenous Engagement Team
With encouragement from the BC Assembly of First Nations, WE-CAN launched the Indigenous Climate Action Data Quilt Project to map every Indigenous climate initiative in BC. In partnership with RAVEN, we also are hosting a webinar series on Indigenous Perspectives on Climate Action.

Local Government Team
Terms of Reference
We work to promote climate action at the municipal, rural, and regional level. Through our Climate Champions map, we supported 146 climate champions to be elected to regional and municipal councils and school boards in October 2022. We are continuing to support the elected champions in their new positions as well as local climate groups pushing for municipal and regional action.
Members Team
We work to strengthen relationships between WE-CAN’s climate action member-groups, and to seek new member groups, especially youth, business, labour, university, conservation, social justice, and religious groups. We are working to develop an interactive map of all of our member groups in BC.
Provincial Team
WE-CAN’s Provincial Team keeps on top of climate action priorities, seeks and holds meetings with Ministers, and works to achieve the election of climate champion MLAs in the 2024 Provincial election.
