CleanBC Review Submission Discussion Registration

The Government, together with the Green Party, is reviewing the province’s progress on reducing climate emissions. This is referred to as the Clean BC review. Deadline for submission is July 18, 2025, @ 4 pm. Everyone has the opportunity to make submissions (maximum of 2,500 words). You can click HERE to view the Landing Page, which invites submissions and sets a list of questions to try and structure responses.

The WE-CAN Board has commissioned Deb L. Morison, Lauren Touchant and Harry Crosby to prepare the WE-CAN submission. If you are interested in participating in a discussion, to assist you, WE-CAN and other members in preparing submissions, please join our discussion on July 5th, 2025 @ 7:00 PM. You can register below.

The discussion will repeat on July 7 @ 7:00pm and you can use the same registration link for the subsequent meeting.

The Review Panel will not consider submissions that appear to be a result of a template letter writing campaign. Thus, WE-CAN will not be providing its members with suggested talking points. As a general comment, possibly the most constructive approach might be to provide suggestions on how the government could to better in its efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and in its reporting on those efforts.

Here is some background information on Legislation setting out the annual progress reporting that the government is required to submit to the legislature:

  1. Link to the latest report the government filed with the legislature. You might also look at other past reports HERE
  2. The Supplemental Report for 2023 (which can be accessed in the above link) provides a list of the policies and programs the province was working on in 2023. This supplement has not been updated.

You are also invited to email your submissions to WE-CAN at harry@westcoastclimateaction.ca, as we will make submissions available to our members and the public on our website.
